Embers of Kekri Music Festival: A Descent Into the Dark Season

Spend Halloween with Bryan's own musicians at Embers of Kekri, a free, all-ages festival at Blackwater Draw Brewing Co. on North Main. Every act on the bill is local, playing back to back across three stages from late morning until 11 that night. The name comes from Kekri, an old Finnish festival marking the end of harvest and the start of winter's dark season, given a Halloween twist here. Come in costume, since there's a costume contest with prizes.

BVLive.com Songwriter Nights

BVLive.com Songwriter Nights is an intimate songwriter-round series inspired by rooms like Nashville's Bluebird Cafe. On the first Tuesday of every month, songwriters and artists take the stage at The Parker-Astin in Downtown Bryan, each performing three original songs and sharing the stories behind them. Country, Americana, folk, rock, blues, singer-songwriter, indie, pop — whatever you write, bring it. Free admission; doors at 6:30 PM. Artists must be 18 or older to perform, and slots are curated through the BVLive.com artist signup form. Not a songwriter? Come listen and discover a new artist. Presented by Destination Bryan and The Parker-Astin.
