BATS! Superheroes of the Night — Sneak Peek
Sat, Sep 26, 2026

Enjoy a sneak peek of BATS! Superheroes of the Night at the Parker Astin Arts Center during Art Step. This multidisciplinary exhibition brings together students, faculty, community members, and artists from Texas A&M University and beyond for an immersive, accessible exploration of bats through natural history specimens, large-format photography, pop-culture-inspired artwork, 3D skeletal models, and research-based narratives. The preview features art by local young artists instructed by art educator Le Ann Hale of the Purple Turtle Art Studio. The full exhibition runs October 9 through December 18 at the James R. Reynolds Gallery in Texas A&M's Memorial Student Center. Meet the contributors, see a live paste-up by BEAST, and welcome special guests at the Reynolds Gallery on October 9 from 2–4 PM. Exhibit contact: Heather L. Prestridge, Biodiversity Research and Teaching Collections, brtc@tamu.edu.

Scream — Halloween Movies at The Queen
The Queen Theatre wraps up Halloween week with a screening of Scream, a fitting choice for the last stretch before Halloween. Watching it at the Queen is half the appeal: the restored 1930s theatre on South Main offers reclining seats and food and drink service right at your seat during the movie. Make it a Wednesday night out downtown with friends, maybe dinner nearby first. Check the Queen's listing for showtime and ticket details before heading over.
